“A” for Advanced!!! Orange card for arms. Ufff. I’ll try…. but I’m not sure about this one! Looks to me like two nightmare power moves combined, a plank AND a push-up! 😱😱😱😱
So who are our champions who’ll manage these, so the rest of us can watch in awe. (That’s what my “A” will stand for, anyway)
That was another toughie CBDB but at least my new resistance bands arrived yesterday🙂 I couldn’t manage full press-ups so I did half press-ups instead👍 I’ll need to work on my upper body strength too! 💪

Sounds like you managed really well. A little goes a long way. I might need a bit longer to get to full press ups with resistance bands, but I’ll definitely will give it a go. Because … a little goes a long way! 👍🏽😀
Well what can I say 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣As I can't do ordinary press up it was going to be adaptation again. My physio type band was long enough so I struggled through by attempting (and mainly succeeding) knee press ups.
Sounds great! Well done! Yes, press-ups are a bit of a nightmare for me but I haven’t tried any for quite some time. So knee press ups sound good to me!
Nice! I am warmer now 😎 And I found out: The more challenging Inchworm is just the last exercise in the Pilates Mat series (#34 in Return to Life, see photo). I noticed if I really pay attention to activating the backs of my legs (aka the thing that is most challenging for me), the push up is actually easier!
I followed 5 of those Inchworms with today's exercise using a Theraband, arms not crossed and knees down. I'll try later today with crossed arms!
(Edited to add photo of #34 and to add the qualification that it's the second Inchworm that is like #34)
Instructions for The Push Up from Return to Life by Joseph Pilates
Yea, this is The Book for Pilates, well, Contrology as Joseph Pilates called it... 🤣 Some of the exercises in the sequence of 34 are quite challenging... well, actually all of them are challenging some of them I can wing more than others 😉
Well that was absolutely hilarious 😂 I got into position after much manipulation of this very overweight, 63 year old, body and then I literally couldn't move 🤭 So, put that one down to experience 😂😂😂
I did it! Well, sort of... kind of... maybe... 🤣 At first I crossed the band not my arms 🙈 Then I just did push ups - and then realized watching the video, we're supposed to put our forearms down. Oh, my! Well, that was the easy part! Coming back up was another story 🤣. After the seventh one (knees bend, mind you!) I realized maybe I should alternate the front arm. Bad idea! I totally got out of the momentum... 🙃
OK..? 😉🤔 The arms crossed over, even with knees down, was too odd for my shape. Didn’t work technically even if I had the strength in my arms. I ended up doing normal half push ups (knees back but down) and 8 of those were enough. With the resistance band and the crossed arms and the hands inwards … I also just trembled there , not being able to move in any direction. 🤣🤣🤣
But we did it. Right? So bring it on!
I might try ChannelRunner2 ’s inchworm later on. It looked great. (Heading to a rowing session just now)
